Illuminated Fountain & Promenade Concerts in Salzburg
Two magical concert series lead brass music fans to the Mirabellgarten. The Promenade Concerts take places on Sundays and public holidays starting at 10.30 am. Under the canopy of trees, the garden turns into a musical stage for an hour. There’s nothing wrong with a little dance just before noon. Wednesday nights belong to the Illuminated Fountain Concerts from 8.30 pm. As dusk sets in, the Four Elements Fountain is wrapped in colourful lights, framed by the moon and the stars. Bands move through the garden for one hour providing entertaining music in the idyllic atmosphere.
Traditional afternoons at the Heckentheater
Brass band concerts aside, traditions also have their place at the Mirabellgarten. From mid-June, the Heckentheater will be transformed into a massive open-air stage for Salzburg’s cultural treasures. Singers, musicians, performers and traditional groups stage something every Friday from 6.30 pm. Local songs, folk dances and cultural events from Salzburg’s everyday life accompany the highly diverse programme.
