The service was fantastic
and the property, gardens and pool area were amazing. Our stay couldn't have been any better! Nothing.
We came for a short holiday to relax and enjoy the area of Salzburgland and enjoyed it.
The room was spacious and modern, very comfortable. The only downside is that the towels and pillows were of lower standards. Mattress was excellent. The public areas are in the opposite building and they are beautifully decorated with traditional touch. It seems that the Garden Cafe is a lot of fun. Breakfast buffet us rich although the variety of fruit is limited. Spa is not very big but we had fun in the swimming pool, sauna and quiet balcony next to it.
Perfect Hotel for a relaxing weekend
If you search for a great place stay near Salzburg with wellness opportunity, this is the place to be. Charming and elegant hotel with a friendly and familiar atmosphere. 15 minutes away from Salzburg city but nevertheless a calm and relaxing place, we'll definitely come back!
Always wonderful to be back here
Gmachl reserves always pleasant surprises with its top cuisine with genuine ingredients and its atmosphere full of charme. Breakfast is always a wonder. All complemented with an attentive service. Rooms are very comfortable. Special is to take a swim at the spa pool overlooking Salzburg mountains. Nice to be back again!
An Austrian Alps Paradies
I chose to go to Salzburg for Christmas. After researching I found that I wanted peaceful, quiet, fairy tale-like and fun. This was this resort. It is about eight miles north of Salzburg and easily accessed by bus into the city. Only take fifteen minutes. The hotel is very old with a new edition across the street. I did not have the chance to see the rooms on the old side but was in the building a lot and feel that no matter the side you cannot go wrong. I was on the new side and the room was bigger than my London apartment. The tile floors were heated and there were floor to ceiling windows that let you view the sunset on the Alps right from your room. Giant bathtub or the biggest walk in shower and rain shower head I've ever seen. They gave me welcome snacks and because I was visiting during a holiday they had a set menu in the restaurant that was amazing. Actually ate there two nights in a room it was so good. There's a sweet little church next door that I got to attend. There is also an Infiniti pool that overlooks the mountains. I could not have asked for a more picturesque paradise of a place than this hotel and staff and if I'm ever in the area or see this hotel brand in other travels I would definitely consider it again. My Christmas was a pleasure thanks to the Romantik Hotel group.
Incredible accommodation with unbelievable scenery
This place is just awesome. Great service, spacious rooms with all the comfort you need (except for the minibar which is counted as extra, while the same content is usually for free in similar range hotels).
The swimming pool on the rooftop is a must, with great view on the Alps.
And it's a true family business. That counts a lot in the quality of the service.
The hotel consists of two parts opposite one another on a quiet village street. The village is an easy ride to the city of Salzburg. There is a large underground parking garage. Parking is also possible on the street in front of the hotel if space permits.
The reception and restaurant are housed in the older part of the hotel. The two parts are connected by an underground passage, very convenient in case of inclement weather or if the guests in the modern part wish to go to the swimming pool.
The family of the owners has been in the hospitality trade since the 14th century! This amazing fact shows that they have a wealth of experience and are very successful at what they do.
We stayed in the older part. The somewhat rustic room was very comfortable, but there is no air conditioning. This was no problem when we visited. The breakfast was superb. The hotel also offers fine dining with a variety of Austrian dishes.
The service was impeccable and friendly. The cleanliness was tops.
This is a gem of a hotel which offers impeccable hospitality.
