Watersport & Fun in Salzburg

The lake district around Salzburg

Lake Wallersee and Trumersee are close to Elixhausen so you could easily ride the bike out to the lakes. There is also a good bus connection to the lakes.

The nearest public outdoor swimming pool is in Bergheim. For all those enjoying recreational waters there are a number of hot springs and spas in Salzburg (Monte Mare in Golling) and the surrounding towns as well as Bavaria (Rupertus Therme in Bad Reichenhall).

The Trumer lakes - Obertrumer See, Mattsee, Grabensee - are only 15km from Salzburg and are a perfect spot for recreation. You will not get bored with all the opportunities and offers for sports, culture, and adventure. Especially in the summer it is a little paradise away from mass tourism even if it is just for a few days!

Water sports in Salzburg

Opportunities for water sports are manifold. Anything from sailing, canoeing, or swimming in the lake district; rafting, canyoning, kayaking on the river Salzach or in the Lammertal valley; fishing in an alpine creek; diving in lake Fuschl; to water skiing on lake Wolfgang can be found here. Surfing is a must on the Flachgauer lakes, and para sailing and water skiing are top sports in many of these regions.
