Gault Millau

The famous travel guide "Gault Millau" was founded in 1962 by two journalists, Henri Gault and Christian Millau. Both had been jouralists at the Parisian newspaper "Paris Press" and institutionalized culinary topics. By 1962 they had developed the first edition of the Parisian restaurant guide "Guide Juillard." In 1973 they announced the headline "Vive la nouvelle cuisine française," the ten commandments for a contemporary cuisine, in their magazine. Among these: shorter cooking times, fresh products, lighter sauces. Time magazine crowned the Gault Millau with the phrase "the New Testament of the Gourmet Cuisine" next to the magazine "Michelin", which still holds 1st place until today. The first German edition was published 1983.

For over thirty years, "Karen Brown" has helped travelers plan perfect trips. They began as book publishers and currently have seventeen titles in the Karen Brown Series.
